The problem lies in its heavy dependence on Random Number Generation (RNG), which transforms exhilarating treasure finds into disheartening rewards that are often unusable due to conflicting bonuses. For instance, finishing a run could result in obtaining relics with inconsistent enhancements.
In the Reddit community r/Nighreign, a user named djarin1234 has narrated an encounter they had. They uploaded a picture of the Grand Luminous Scenne relic, which offers three distinct advantages tailored to various classes or builds. Unfortunately, if this relic is worn, the Redditor can only benefit from one or two buffs, with the remaining ones proving entirely redundant.
As a gamer, I find it astonishing when valuable in-game items don’t live up to expectations, leaving me thinking they could have been more impactful. If FromSoftware feels combining relics might make the system overpowered, they could introduce a mechanic akin to Dishonored 2’s Bone Charm Crafting system.
