As a dedicated fan of Hallmark movies, I must say that witnessing the camaraderie between Andrew Walker and Ashley Williams off-screen is as heartwarming as their on-screen performances. Their real-life friendship, coupled with their shared neighborhood and children’s bond, adds a unique charm to their collaborations, making their films even more delightful for fans like me.
In a candid conversation, popular actors Andrew Walker and Ashley Williams, who worked together in the movie “Jingle Bell Run,” released on November 16, discussed the scenes where they had to passionately kiss each other for the camera, recreating that intimate, on-screen romance.
In an interview with People magazine, Walker candidly admitted, “This is like a circus, a spectacle.” He’s grown accustomed to it, but performing intimate scenes with someone you know well can still feel unusual. Interestingly, he’s quite close with his co-star’s spouse and considers them good friends.
In addition to sharing screen time, they share a real-life neighborhood. Interestingly, both actors and their partners collaborated on the Dance Party to Fight Alzheimer’s together as well.
Williams told People magazine that when she first received a call about the movie, they described it as The Amazing Race during Christmas time, and also mentioned Walker as her potential co-star. Upon learning this, she inquired where she needed to enroll.
Williams mentioned that they resided just a couple of minutes apart, and their two boys, all the same age, were deeply fond of each other. She found it hard to believe they hadn’t shared the screen in a movie before. For her, it felt like a cherished dream realized.
Williams and her partner, Neal Dodson, have a couple of children: Gus, aged 10, and Odie, aged 7. Similarly, Walker and his partner, Cassandra Troy, also have two kids: West, aged 10, and Wolf, aged 4.
During conversation with the outlet, Walker revealed an anecdote about his latest movie. He mentioned casually that his 10-year-old overheard him chatting with Jonah, and when asked who he was talking to, he explained that in the coming film, Walker and Gus’s mother would be seen romantically involved.
Williams exclaimed, “We’re on the elementary school rumor mill now!” He added, “Mentioning ‘making out’ suggests they have no idea what it actually means.
According to Walker, whenever he watches an old movie with his family that includes a kiss scene, his sons immediately react by giving him disapproving looks or expressing their displeasure in various ways such as saying “Daddy, you can’t do that!” or becoming physically aggressive towards him afterwards. The 4-year-old often reacts silently in this manner.
As far as Walker’s and William’s Jingle Bell Run goes, it is available to be streamed on Peacock.
