Thinking About It…’: Interview With The Vampire Showmakers Teases THIS Popular Storyline For Season 3

Oh, the thrill and anticipation I feel as a dedicated fan of Interview with the Vampire! The news that Season 3 is in the works has sent shivers down my spine, much like the first bite of a freshly-turned vampire. As someone who’s been through the rollercoaster of emotions with Louis and Lestat, I can hardly contain my excitement as we delve deeper into Anne Rice’s enchanting world.

In development now: Season 3 of “The Vampire Chronicles”! Showrunner Rolin Jones has hinted at the direction the series’ storyline is heading. Although it may differ from the books, we can look forward to a significant plotline from Anne Rice’s third novel becoming reality in this upcoming season.

After the jaw-dropping ending of Season 2 (which premiered in late June), “Interview with the Vampire” is set to carry on, focusing on “The Vampire Lestat,” as portrayed in the book series. However, showrunner Jones hints that there’s more to come beyond this.

Showrunner hints at awaited plot in Interview with the Vampire Season 3

According to Anne Rice’s “The Vampire Chronicles,” the storyline of “Interview with the Vampire” was significantly influenced and largely followed its source material, with only slight changes in places. It is anticipated that Season 3 will adhere to the second book in the series, “The Vampire Lestat,” published in 1985, continuing the narrative in order.

Without a doubt, showrunner Rolin Jones eagerly anticipates unveiling the beloved plot about the Devil’s Minion in Season 3 itself. This narrative, featuring characters Daniel and Armand, derives from Anne Rice’s third book in the novel series, Queen of the Damned, and is further developed in the chapter titled “The Story of Daniel, the Devil’s Servant.”

From Season 3 onwards, the AMC drama is expected to gradually delve deeper into the “Devil’s Minion” storyline, which has been in our plans for some time now. As showrunner and EP Jones mentioned at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, there will be significant plot points paving the way towards this intriguing concept.

In the stories, Daniel’s journey towards becoming a vampire unfolds as the tale of the Devil’s Minion. After his encounter with Louis, Daniel starts hunting for Lestat, which eventually leads him to New Jersey. There, he encounters Armand.

In their intricate bond, Armand aims to capitalize on Daniel’s abilities for financial gain, while Daniel dreams that Armand might transform him into a vampire someday. Consequently, they find themselves in a dynamic reminiscent of the Devil’s assistant.

Star Sam Reid prepares for his Season 3 storyline

With a lot riding on the outcome, Sam Reid, portraying the central character Lestat du Lioncourt, is fully committed to his new storyline as a rock star. The Australian actor recently sat down for an interview at SDCC 2024 and discussed his musical preparations for Interview with the Vampire Season 3.

“Over the weekend at the Google TV Variety Studio, I couldn’t help but joke about my exhilarating life as an obsessed fan, implying that I’m constantly living it up like a perpetual rock star. Somehow, I find myself traveling on private planes, seemingly thanks to an abundance of extraordinary substances.”

In Season 3, we delve into the musical aspects of our vampire series, spearheaded by composer Daniel Hart’s distinctive style. Our showrunner has mentioned that they, along with Hart, will write many of the songs that Sam Reid will perform.

In addition to the numerous storylines unfolding, Season 3 is expected to heavily emphasize Lestat’s rockstar persona as he launches a tour with his fresh band. The Interview with the Vampire series was swiftly renewed for another season just days before the Season 2 finale on June 30th.
