The Witcher Season 4 Release Date, Trailer, Plot, and Cast: Liam Hemsworth Debuts as Geralt on Netflix

Netflix has announced that Season 4 of The Witcher will arrive on October 30, 2025, and shared a new trailer. This season will look a little different, as Liam Hemsworth is taking over the role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill, who starred in the first three seasons. Fans can expect some big changes and exciting new storylines.

The newest trailer offers a complete first look at Chris Hemsworth as Geralt. It depicts him gathering a group of adventurers to find Ciri, his previous trainee. During their journey, Geralt encounters various threats, such as soldiers, a massive ogre, and a spectral wraith. A voiceover proclaiming, “You are becoming something new,” suggests a fresh path for both Geralt’s character and the overall storyline with Hemsworth now in the role.

Here’s what fans can expect from The Witcher Season 4 plot and characters

Season 4 picks up where Season 3 left off, with Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri each facing challenges and enemies while separated by a war. Throughout their travels across dangerous territories, they meet new allies who could help them find their way back to each other – if they can learn to trust one another.

Oh my gosh, Season 3 is going to be AMAZING! They’ve added Regis, played by Laurence Fishburne – he’s joining Geralt and everyone on their journey, which I’m already losing my mind over! And of course, all my favorites are back! Jaskier, sweet Jaskier (Joey Batey) is *definitely* returning, and Cahir (Eamon Farren) too! Please let them be okay! I’m so excited to see Triss (Anna Shaffer), Fringilla (Mimî M Khayisa), and Philippa (Cassie Clare) again, and I can’t WAIT to see what Milva (Meng’er Zhang) and Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu) are up to. Seriously, this season is going to be epic!

Episode count, production, and direction

Season 4 of The Witcher will have eight episodes, just like the seasons before it. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is still in charge as showrunner and executive producer, keeping the story consistent. Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Tricia Brock, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Jeremy Webb will be directing the episodes.

Netflix has announced that Season 5 will be the last season of the show, meaning Season 4 is the next-to-last part of Geralt’s story.

You can now watch the official trailer for Season 4 on Netflix! It shows what’s in store for Geralt as he embarks on new quests, introduces the growing cast of characters, and hints at the dangers he’ll face. With Liam Hemsworth as Geralt and returning favorites, the new season is set to deliver the fantasy, magic, and action that fans love.
