Aimee Lou Wood, the star of The White Lotus, clarified the reasons for her tears in a picture that sparked controversy during SNL’s less-than-kind sketch about the actress and her character on HBO. In a post on her Instagram story, Lou Wood explained that the tears had nothing to do with the Saturday Night Live performance.
On Tuesday, the actress penned, “I just wanted to clarify, my tears had nothing to do with what the newspapers suggested.” Additionally, she explained, “My tears were actually about something entirely different.
Simultaneously, stars from the entertainment world rallied behind the Sex Education actress when a comedy program mockingly targeted her teeth during a nationally broadcast event.
In simpler terms, Cara Delevingne expressed her admiration for Aimee Lou Wood on her Instagram post. The actress from “The Only Murders in the Building” shared a picture from the event and added, “@aimeelouwood YOU ARE GORGEOUS, PERIOD.
Jameela Jamil expressed approval for Lou Wood on her Instagram story, stating, “This isn’t even the most fascinating aspect of this talented performer.” She continued by praising Wood, saying “We might soon see another Olivia Colman – she’s funny, insightful, open, and endearingly lovable.
Jamil kept on expressing, “We mock the integration of women and yet relentlessly fixate on anybody exhibiting even minor deviations from the arbitrary beauty norms that we’ve let define our world. This is especially true for us women.
Regarding her feelings about the SNL job and portrayal of her character, Aimee Lou Wood posted on her social network, “I genuinely enjoy being made fun of when it’s smart and done in a jovial manner.
She clarified, “However, the humor was centered around fluoride, not my teeth being bad. I have gaps in my teeth, not poor dental health. I appreciate the caricature, knowing that’s what SNL is about. Yet, the remainder of the skit seemed to mock rather than elevate, and unfortunately, Chelsea was the only one who appeared to be targeted.
Simultaneously, she shared every post from her social media platforms, expressing her thanks towards her celebrity peers.
