The White Lotus Season 3 Cast Were Paid Same Salaries? Casting Director Reveals Truth; ‘Some Won’t…’

Among today’s popular TV series, The White Lotus stands out as a captivating choice that leaves viewers glued to their screens. Unique features both in front of and behind the camera set it apart, including an interesting pay structure where all cast members receive equal salaries.

In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, David Bernad, the producer of the HBO series, explained that each character on the show is equally respected and given the same attention.

He explained, “They receive equal compensation, and we use alphabetical invoicing, ensuring you work with individuals driven by genuine interest for the project, rather than for fame like on ‘The Bachelor.’ Bernard also mentioned that this system was established during the first season of the HBO series as they lacked sufficient resources to fund the project.

According to an article on THR, the first season’s episodes were produced at a cost of under $4 million each. However, the budget for the most recent episodes is estimated to range from $6 million to $7 million per episode.

Meredith Tucker, the show’s casting director, agreed and explained that this approach simplifies things significantly. She further noted, “We just let them know what the project is about,” and added compassionately, “Some may decline, and it’s understandable as they have to earn a living.

Tucker explained that the series regulars were primarily working for a modest payment, while Bernad underscored that this was non-negotiable. According to various insiders, the cast members were earning approximately $40,000 per episode.

Despite wrapping up in Season 3, “The White Lotus” remains a hot topic on social media conversations, irrespective of the discussion. For those yet to catch up, Seasons 1, 2, and 3 can be streamed on MAX.
