‘The Water Magician’ to Get Anime Adaptation, Teaser Video and Visuals Revealed

The captivating “Water Magician” light novel series penned by authors Tadashi Kubō and Nokito is slated for a TV animation debut. This thrilling piece of news originates from TO Books, hinting at the anime’s premiere on TBS and various other networks in July 2025.

Anticipate Ayumu Murase lending his voice to Ryō, the main character, and Kazuki Ura portraying the daring swordsman Abel in the upcoming series. Kaede Hondo is part of the cast as Sera, an elf adventurer. The website for the anime has unveiled their character designs, offering a sneak peek into what’s in store for us.

The anime is led by director Hideyuki Satake, recognized for his episodes in “Delicious in Dungeon” and “Deca-Dence”. Scripts are managed by Jun Kumagai, who has worked on series like “Aquarion Logos” and “Descending Stories”. Yūka Kozutsumi is responsible for designing the characters, while credit goes to Bokutengō for adapting the manga from the novels.

Originally, Kubo shared the story online, but since March 2021, TO Books has been releasing the novels as physical books. Now, there are 11 volumes in total, and the 12th is due out on January 15. Furthermore, a manga adaptation by Bokutengō started in 2021, and an age-appropriate version is also available under the TO Junior Bunko imprint.
