THE WALKING DEAD: DARYL DIXON Says Au Revoir to France and Connects to Commonwealth

As a long-time fan of The Walking Dead franchise, I must say that the season finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon was quite a rollercoaster ride! It’s always intriguing to see our favorite characters navigate through different scenarios and locations, and this time, France served as an interesting backdrop for their adventures.

Title Translation: The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – “Carol’s Tale

Previously, Ash, upset by Carol’s deceitful actions, points out that their plane can only accommodate three individuals. This implies someone must remain behind. In the final episode, Carol selflessly offers to stay in France, allowing Daryl and Laurent to reach safety. However, Daryl wishes to stay behind himself and asks Ash to escort Laurent to the Commonwealth, a place where he will be secure and looked after.

In a turn of events, The Union and Pouvoir move in to capture Laurent, but Daryl, Fallou, and Codron manage to hold them off, allowing Ash to flee with Laurent. Carol decides to stay behind and fight, choosing to remain by her friend’s side. Fingers crossed, they’ll reach the Commonwealth safely. It’s unclear if Carol or Daryl provided specific directions for reaching their destination, but the show seems to be going wherever it pleases at this point. This setup certainly leaves room for potential future collaborations/reunions, which I’ll delve into further later on.

In the story, Fallou’s pals Angus and Fiona join Daryl, Carol, and a character named Codron to travel through the Chunnel, which serves as a border crossing to England. However, Fallou remains in France due to his affection for Akila. The group encounter bioluminescent walkers at the Chunnel, but things take an unusual turn when they come across bat guano, whose psychoactive properties cause hallucinations and trips among them. Codron flees after experiencing a vision of his deceased brother, leaving uncertainty about his current state of life. In the chaos brought by the hallucinogenic effects, Daryl slays Angus and Fiona, who become aggressive in their pursuit of gas masks for protection. As a result, it’s once more Caryl (a combination of Fallou and Carol) on their own as they don gas masks and proceed into England.

Wrapping up Daryl Dixon’s journey in France, as Isabelle, Genet pass away, Fallou departs with his lover Laurent to America, Codron leaves too – leaving a tale that has Fallou, one of the most captivating new characters in recent years, still alive. A sneak peek at season three hints at Carol and Daryl’s arrival in Spain on their mission back to America. Could they stumble upon another individual who miraculously possesses an extraordinary airplane? Time will tell. I am genuinely content that both Fallou and Ash survived, as they truly deserve all the good fortune coming their way.

Returning to the Commonwealth, Laurent’s arrival will serve as proof that Daryl and Carol are currently alive. Moreover, it can be inferred that Ash will continue residing within this community, thereby alleviating his loneliness. On the other hand, Rick and Michonne have returned to Alexandria, but they seem to be dividing their time or even living in the Commonwealth with their children.

It’s unlikely that anyone will go searching for Carol and Daryl, as Rick is not planning to abandon his family and companions. Additionally, sending someone else out on a mission to find them again seems unnecessary, given their self-reliant nature. It would be exciting, however, to imagine a reunion in which Daryl reunites with both Rick and Laurent in the future.

It seems that we’re looking forward to more episodes, potentially up to season four, of this series further ahead. Let’s wait and see what unfolds.
