THE WALKING DEAD: DARYL DIXON Gives Caryl Fans Exactly What They’ve Wanted

As a long-time fan of “The Walking Dead,” I must say that the reunion between Carol and Daryl was a heartwarming moment indeed! However, having survived apocalyptic scenarios myself (okay, not really, but one can dream), I have to admit that their meeting felt a tad too convenient. Carol’s escape from the Amper line was a close call, and it seemed like she found Daryl with more luck than skill.

Imagine losing your best friend in the apocalypse after you’ve been connected for years. Now imagine that friend is all the way in Paris, France and you’re in the United States. What are the chances of you two finding each other again? Slim to none, I’d say. But pretty much anything is possible in the world of The Walking Dead because Carol and Daryl had an emotional reunion in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – “The Book of Carol” episode four. Carol did what should be impossible and found Daryl. Here’s what went down.

Previously, Carol had been on the verge of becoming an Amper – Genet’s enhanced walkers meant for military use. However, she managed to feign death and flee with Codron on an ATV. They then made their way to The Nest, where Codron unfortunately ended Isabelle’s life, but not before she guided Carol to where Daryl was being held captive. It’s a grim reminder that in this world, the less significant characters often perish to help the main ones move the plot forward. The reunion between Carol and Daryl is always heartwarming, especially when they express their love and care for each other.

Frankly speaking, the reunion between Carol and Daryl felt underwhelming and seemed unmerited given the situation at hand. It appears Carol managed to reach Daryl effortlessly, which seems unusual considering the circumstances. With Isabelle’s character now written off (her demise was quite predictable, wasn’t it?), Carol teams up with Daryl to safeguard Laurent during their escape. Eventually, Carol ends up killing Genet using that dreadful virus she possesses.

Currently, they’re fleeing as Losang assumes control as the Pouvoir’s effective leader. I must admit, it’s not my favorite turn of events, but many fans are probably thrilled that Carol and Daryl are a couple now. It seems like Ash is just killing time or awaiting his fate – perhaps we’ll catch up with him again in episode five.
