A Troublesome Skeletal Voyager accompanies Rent Faina, a hard-up adventurer who tragically perishes in an encounter with a mythical dragon, only to revive as a skeleton. Eager to advance into a superior undead state and reclaim his humanity, Rentt undertakes a trek of survival and self-exploration.
The initial season was animated by Studio Connect, under the direction of Noriyaki Akitaya, with Yukie Sugawara handling series composition, Takao Sano designing the characters, and Shun Narita composing the music. Crunchyroll broadcasted this anime worldwide (with some exceptions in Southeast Asian territories), while Muse Asia provided access to it within Asia.
