As a die-hard “Doctor Who” fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill, who brought the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz to life on our screens, would be returning for Big Finish Audio adventures! The murky nature of the Doctor’s feelings towards Yaz and the lack of screen time for their duo left many fans, including myself, craving more. It’s not every day that a Doctor or companion actor decides to return so soon after leaving the show, but I’m thrilled that they’ve chosen to do so.

Excited fans of Thasmin (The Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz)! The intricate connection between the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz left many spectators swooning yet perplexed. The Doctor’s true emotions towards Yaz remained ambiguous, leaving us questioning if Yaz’s affection was reciprocated or not. Furthermore, after Ryan and Graham departed from the TARDIS, we anticipated more time for this duo. However, the show introduced another companion, Dan, instead, causing disappointment among fans. Fortunately, Big Finish Audios will bring us unrealized storylines or desired scenes with Jodie Whittaker reprising her role as The Thirteenth Doctor and Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan!

Many fans are taken aback as it’s uncommon for Doctor or companion actors to rejoin “Doctor Who” so soon after leaving, with the Thirteenth Doctor’s last episode airing in 2022 and only three years passing. However, we’re content with this quick return. In July 2025, “Doctor Who – The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures,” a collection of twelve hour-long audio stories produced by Big Finish, will be launched. No specifics have been disclosed regarding the storylines or any other actors joining Jodie Whittaker in reprising her role as the revered time-traveling extraterrestrial. Yet, Jodie is eager to resume her duties as the Doctor.
