Kylo Ren always stirred up strong reactions, but now it’s news about his actor, Adam Driver, that has Star Wars fans upset. Driver recently shared that Disney and Bob Iger blocked a potential solo movie for his character, to be directed by Steven Soderbergh, and fans aren’t happy about it. They’re actively campaigning to get the movie, titled The Search for Ben Solo, made, and have even taken their efforts to Times Square.

As a huge Star Wars fan, I was pretty blown away to hear about this! A fan named B.D. Neagle actually rented digital billboard space in Times Square to try and convince Disney to greenlight The Search for Ben Solo. Apparently, it’s up on Broadway between 43rd and 44th, right above Carlo’s Bake Shop, and every 28 minutes it flashes a message: “For Adam. No one’s ever really gone. Hope lives. Ben is alive! #THBS.” I first saw the story over at Collider, and it’s just incredible dedication!
Okay, so this whole thing with trying to get Disney to release the scrapped storyboards for ‘The Hunt for Ben Solo’ is really taking off! It started a few days ago when some dedicated fans actually hired a plane to fly over Disney Studios with a banner. It wasn’t subtle – it clearly said, “Save #TheHuntForBenSolo.” It’s pretty amazing to see fans going to these lengths, and this digital push feels like the next step in their campaign.
A small plane flew over Burbank, California, towing a banner with a message urging the continuation of a project related to the character Ben Solo from Star Wars. The campaign is being called ‘The Hunt for Ben Solo.’

Can this campaign actually succeed? The success of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut proves anything is possible. We’ve also recently seen Disney respond to fan demands. Like many fans, Neagle hopes to achieve a similar result – but without needing to protest. She explained to Collider that the billboard is meant to clearly communicate to Disney what fans are hoping for, and directly countered the reason Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, previously gave for not making the film.
Apparently, Disney struggled with how to bring back Ben Solo after his death in The Rise of Skywalker. According to one source, bringing him back shouldn’t have been a problem, considering they were able to resurrect Palpatine with minimal explanation and there were existing ways to fit Ben’s return into the established Star Wars story.
…She’s not wrong. In fact, that’s a great point. Maybe she can bring that up in the next billboard.
