The newest trailer for The Running Man shows why TV producer Dan Killian believes Ben Richards is the show’s best contestant ever. However, Killian has a problem: Richards is too skilled. Here’s the official description of The Running Man from Paramount Pictures, accompanying the trailer.
In a not-so-distant future, the most popular TV show is a brutal competition called The Running Man. Contestants, called Runners, are hunted by skilled assassins for 30 days, with their every move broadcast live to a huge audience. Each day they survive earns a bigger reward. Ben Richards, a working-class man desperate to pay for his daughter’s medical care, is persuaded by the show’s manipulative producer, Dan Killian, to participate as a last hope. However, Ben’s courage, resourcefulness, and determination unexpectedly make him a favorite among viewers – and a danger to the show’s control. As ratings climb, the risks increase, and Ben must not only evade the Hunters, but also overcome a nation obsessed with watching his downfall.
Colman Domingo plays Bobby Thompson, the charismatic host of the game show in the film. The cast also includes William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, and Jayme Lawson. Edgar Wright wrote the screenplay with Michael Bacall, who previously worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Can Ben Richards make it through 30 days as the world’s most hunted person? See what happens in The Running Man, coming to theaters on November 14, 2025.
