Despite mixed opinions from fans, Amazon’s series titled “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has gained popularity and been renewed for a second season. This new season is set to premiere on August 29, 2024, with eight episodes. It will be exciting to watch how the story unfolds, especially in light of recent announcements made by the showrunners.

Without a doubt, the forthcoming debut promises to be among the most spectacular summer happenings! Already, chatter about the approaching season is underway, and we’re eagerly looking forward to discovering what fresh developments await us regarding the characters.

Previously, we shared that Season 2 would delve deeper into the villains, particularly Sauron, who will play a pivotal part in the series, sparking much anticipation among fans. Now, the actors have disclosed some fresh insights about Sauron and his role during this season, information we are eager to pass on to you.

In a recent chat with GQ involving both cast and crew, some actors shared additional insights about Sauron and his anticipated role in the upcoming second season. Among them was Charlie Wickers, the actor depicting this character in the show, and here’s what he disclosed:

In a previous work, J.R.R. Tolkien depicted Sauron’s fall from power and need for redemption, which is where we find him at the start of season two. He reaches a critical juncture, questioning if he could choose another route. Whether this introspection is sincere or not remains unclear, but I appreciate the intrigue that ambiguity brings.

He went on to detail how he underwent a change into Annatar, a significant plot point slated for Season 2.

In our place, there were firm guidelines regarding movements. It seems elves never glance at their feet; instead, they always know their direction. They maintain this habit even on stairs, an act deemed impossible given their long robes touch the ground.

Charles Edwards, set to portray the Elf Celebrimbor in the upcoming season, shared his insights about the significant role Sauron is expected to play in relation to Celebrimbor during the second season of the program.

“I can see how Sauron manipulates with words, playing on Celebrimbor’s inner weaknesses. His pride, his desire for recognition, and even his emotional sensitivity seem to be the keys he uses to sway him.”
