Alexi Hawley, the mind behind The Recruit, has voiced his thoughts on the show’s cancellation by CBS. He expressed a desire for an additional season to tie up loose ends and bring the series, featuring Noah Centineo, to a satisfying conclusion.
During a discussion with Deadline for their post-show analysis, Hawley expressed that there’s a great deal to explore and understand regarding Season 2.
He continued by expressing that, according to the plot of the series, both the audience and the actors were expecting another season, initially set to air in January. However, unfortunately, the show was ultimately discontinued.
The showrunner additionally posted on his Instagram, entitled, “An Ode to The Recruit.” In this message, the producer expressed, “Could a second season and a film be possible? Because I believe everyone would eagerly join without hesitation.
