As a die-hard fan who’s had the pleasure of witnessing Sofia Falcone’s captivating journey in HBO’s The Penguin, I am beyond thrilled at the prospect of Sofia teaming up with none other than Catwoman! Cristin Milioti‘s portrayal of Sofia has been one of my favorite performances, and I simply can’t get enough.
Spoiler Alert! The following article contains The Penguin season 1 finale spoilers.
Cristin Milioti is eager to find out how Sofia Falcone will engage with Catwoman, a scenario hinted at in the thrilling finale of HBO’s The Penguin Season 1. In a recent interview, Milioti shared her thoughts on the possibility of Sofia teaming up with Selina Kyle following the receipt of a letter from her while imprisoned in Arkham Asylum at the end of the series.
In the last episode, Sofia Falcone, played by Milioti, successfully eludes the circumstances surrounding The Penguin. Yet, it’s clear that her life is far from smooth sailing as Oz Cobb (Colin Farrell) has meticulously planned to return her to Arkham. However, a letter from her half-sister Selina Kyle (Zoë Kravitz) brings a glimmer of hope into Sofia’s otherwise dismal existence.
Although we don’t know exactly what the letter contains, Sofia’s agreement to read it suggests that Catwoman might be thinking about helping Falcone while she’s imprisoned. Milioti shared with The Direct her fervent wish that she gets another chance to play this role because she adores it so much.
She added, “It’s like one of my favorite things I’ve ever gotten to do, and I’m just obsessed with her. And I think if [Sofia and Selina Kyle] were united, we would just really tear sh*t up.”
When presented with the question of whether Sofia could collaborate with Batman to take down Oz Cobb or side with Oz against Batman, Milioti proposed an unconventional solution. The Modern Love actress suggested, “I believe I would join forces with Selena against them all, wouldn’t I? In a way, I think we could manage it.
Showrunner Lauren LeFranc explained the purpose behind this letter by sharing that Sofia had often felt ignored and excluded by her family during her hardships. However, she mentioned that Selina’s letter might suggest that Sofia isn’t as alone as she thought.
LeFranc stated that as Oz ascended to prominence, Sophia experienced a sad demise, prompting him to instill some optimism in her. This upcoming relationship, therefore, could foster family ties between Sofia Falcone and create higher anticipations. In the series “The Penguin” on HBO, Colin Farrell portrays Oz Cobb, Cristin Milioti plays Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz is Victor Aguilar, Clancy Brown acts as Salvatore Maroni, Scott Cohen depicts Luca Falcone, and many more stars are featured.
