The new trailer for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is here, giving fans a sneak peek at the third film in Rian Johnson’s popular mystery series.
Johnson wrote and directed the film, which will first be shown in cinemas on November 26th. It will then be available to stream on Netflix starting December 12th. The film had its first public showing at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6th.
Daniel Craig returns as the detective Benoit Blanc in a new mystery, this time featuring a fresh set of suspects. The ensemble cast includes well-known actors like Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.

The story follows Blanc as he investigates a death within a close-knit religious community, overseen by the charismatic Monsignor Wicks. He has to uncover the secrets of everyone involved to discover the truth. Expect a tense mystery with plenty of hidden agendas and quirky characters, typical of the series.
Critics are responding very positively to the film. As of now, 94% of 89 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are favorable, giving it an average rating of 8.2 out of 10.
According to the website, the movie offers a compelling mystery, focusing deeply on themes of faith, and features a standout performance by Josh O’Connor. Metacritic gave the film a score of 80 out of 100, based on 24 reviews, indicating generally positive reception.
Damon Wise of Deadline praised the latest installment as potentially the best in the series, noting its more introspective and considerate approach.
German critic Dieter Oßwald, writing for Programmkino.de, also gave the film a positive review, noting it had everything fans expect from a Knives Out movie – quirky characters, a suspenseful plot, and clever surprises. He particularly highlighted Daniel Craig’s performance, calling him effortlessly cool.
