THE LAST OF US Season 3 Casts Clea Duvall and Jorge Lendeborg Jr.

As a huge fan, I’m a little heartbroken to hear that The Last of Us will likely only get three seasons. I was really hoping for four! But it sounds like the story they want to tell will wrap up after season three. The good news is, even though it’s ending sooner than expected, we’re still getting some fresh faces for the final season. Apparently, two new actors are joining the cast – one as a brand new character, and another taking over a role from someone else. I’m excited to see how it all plays out, even if it’s bittersweet knowing it’s coming to an end.

Award-winning actress Clea Duvall, known for her roles in shows like Veep and films like The Faculty, is joining the cast of The Last of Us for its third and final season. She will play a member of the Seraphites, also known as “Scars,” a wandering group who frequently clash with the WLF. The Seraphites are known for their harsh and violent practices, especially towards those who hold beliefs from before the outbreak.

Jorge Lendeborg Jr., known for his roles in Bumblebee and the Spider-Man movies, will be taking over the role of Manny in season three of The Last of Us. He replaces Danny Ramirez, who played Manny in season two but couldn’t return due to scheduling conflicts with his work on the Marvel film Avengers: Secret Wars. Manny is a key character connected to Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and was notably the most aggressive member of the group that captured and killed Joel.

Ramirez leaving isn’t the most significant change happening with The Last of Us between seasons. Last year, creator Neil Druckmann stepped back from the HBO series, giving writer-producer Craig Mazin complete creative control. While season two didn’t perform as well as the first – a common pattern for both the show and the original game – these changes, along with the show’s likely shorter run, suggest some internal difficulties.
