Kylo Ren always stirred up strong reactions, but now it’s news about his actor, Adam Driver, that has Star Wars fans upset. Driver recently shared that Disney blocked a potential solo movie for his character, to be directed by Steven Soderbergh, and fans are not happy about it. They’ve already launched a campaign, even displaying it in Times Square, to try and convince Disney to make The Hunt for Ben Solo a reality.

A dedicated Star Wars fan named B.D. Neagle rented a digital billboard in New York City’s Times Square to encourage Disney to greenlight The Hunt for Ben Solo. According to Collider, the billboard, located at 1500 Broadway near Carlo’s Bake Shop, displays the message “For Adam. No one’s ever really gone. Hope lives. Ben is alive! #THBS” every 28 minutes.
I’ve been following the campaign to get Disney to reconsider its decisions, and this online push isn’t where it started. A few days ago, some dedicated fans actually flew a plane over Disney Studios with a banner that said, “Save #TheHuntForBenSolo.” It was a really clear message to everyone involved – we want them to continue the story!
A small plane flew over Burbank, California, towing a banner with a message urging the revival of a previously abandoned project, reportedly related to the character Ben Solo from the Star Wars universe.

Could this campaign actually work? The success of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut proves anything is possible. We’ve also recently seen Disney respond to fan demands. Like many fans, Neagle hopes to show Disney what viewers truly desire – and she’s doing it with a billboard, rather than a protest. She specifically responded to Bob Iger’s previous explanation for why the project wasn’t approved.
Apparently, Disney struggled with how to bring back Ben Solo after his death in The Rise of Skywalker. According to Neagle, “Since they resurrected Palpatine with just a single line, there were many ways to bring Ben back that would have fit within existing Star Wars stories.”
…She’s not wrong. In fact, that’s a great point. Maybe she can bring that up in the next billboard.
