
A new Hunger Games movie is coming! Titled ‘Sunrise on the Reaping‘, it will be in theaters across the US and Canada on November 20, 2026, and will also be available in IMAX.
This movie is based on Suzanne Collins’ 2025 book of the same name. It continues the story after ‘The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’ (2023) while also telling events that happened before the first ‘Hunger Games’ movie from 2012. It’s the sixth installment in the series.
The 50th Hunger Games are starting now.

People saw the first preview of the upcoming story when the official trailer and poster were shared on Hunger Games’ social media pages.
Francis Lawrence, the director of earlier Hunger Games films, is back to direct the new movie. Billy Ray has written the screenplay. Filming began in late July in Spain, specifically in the areas of Somiedo and Teverga, as confirmed by Lionsgate Films.

The series boasts a mix of returning and new actors. Joseph Zada will play Haymitch Abernathy, Mckenna Grace stars as Maysilee Donner, and Ben Wang is Wyatt Callow. The cast also includes Whitney Peak, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Lili Taylor, Billy Porter, Glenn Close, and Ralph Fiennes. Joining them are new actors portraying the tributes, such as Molly McCann, Iona Bell, and Percy Daggs IV as Ampert Latier, Beetee’s son from District 3.
The new installment, Sunrise on the Reaping, promises the thrilling drama and action that fans love from the series. Now that filming has begun and previews are released, audiences are getting a first glimpse of the new characters, the challenges they’ll face, and the captivating world of Panem.
