The Hangover Star Nathalie Fay Detained on Domestic Battery Charges; Case Explained

On an unexpected note, actress Nathalie Fay, known for her role as Lisa in “The Hangover” directed by Todd Phillips, was taken into custody by the South Miami Police on August 17, 2024, for allegedly committing domestic battery. The incident occurred at her Miami home, prompting a call to 911 due to a disturbance within the residence.

36-year-old actress of both French and American descent, with a background in sales and marketing, found herself under accusation for physically attacking her boyfriend, named Brady. The allegations claim that she inflicted multiple punches, causing noticeable injuries which were observed by the responding police officers upon their arrival.

The incident occurred late on Saturday evening as Fay (formerly known as Nathalie Tordion), along with Brady, were en route to the Miami Dolphins NFL preseason game, according to TMZ. It’s alleged that she assaulted Brady after a string of inquiries concerning his location before their meeting for the game, as detailed in her arrest records, which Entertainment Weekly obtained.

Fay, who was the receptionist at Caesars Palace in The Hangover movie, is said to have traced her boyfriend’s location via her phone and accused him of lying about where he was before coming to her house, according to court documents. This argument escalated into a physical altercation initiated by Fay.

It’s said that Brady exited his vehicle in response to defending himself, on the other hand, local residents phoned 911 to report the disturbance. Upon the police’s arrival, he declined their offer for a ride to the nearby hospital as Fay was apprehended and taken to the station, where she acknowledged the assault but justified her actions, stating she acted “out of fear” due to Brady verbally abusing her at that moment.

Brady sustained minor injuries on his face from the assault whereas, Fay was released from jail shortly with a USD 1,000 bond. According to a report by the Independent, the court has assigned a public defender for the actor while the hearing date is set for September 16. 

Nathalie Fay has a history of working on various projects, with many focusing on comedy films. However, she is particularly known for the 2009 comedy movie in which she starred alongside Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis. In this film, she portrayed Lisa, the hotel receptionist at a Las Vegas hotel where Alan inquires if Julius Caesar resided there and asks about the hotel’s compatibility with pagers.

Apart from The Hangover, the actor has appeared in supporting roles in films such as Old School (2003), starring Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, and Luke Wilson; Blonde and Blonder (2008); Somewhere (2009) and Due Date (2010). In her theatrical career, she has performed in plays like Suburbia, Stage Fright, and You Can Always Grow It Back.

It appears that Fay concluded her acting career with her final project being the 2014 French film “Layover,” directed by Joshua Caldwell. Since then, she has embarked on a different professional path, focusing on real estate, sales, market research, and event management.
