As a huge Goonies fan, I can’t believe it’s been forty years since that amazing movie came out! It’s still such a big part of my life – we’re always talking about a sequel, or hoping the cast will get back together. They’ve even made Goonies-themed games and ice cream! But now, get this – LEGO is releasing a Goonies set! That means I’ll finally be able to find One-Eyed Willy’s ship without all the trouble. Seriously, ‘Goonies never say die’ and this proves it – they’re still bringing the adventure to us!
LEGO and actor Ke Huy Quan (best known as Data from The Goonies) have announced a LEGO set based on the classic film! A design created by fan designer Vaggelis Ntezes from Greece was chosen and will be sold in stores as an official LEGO product.
This impressive LEGO model of scenes from The Goonies is built around a replica of One-Eyed Willy’s pirate ship, the Inferno. Inside, fans will recognize iconic locations like the Fratellis’ hideout, the Walsh family attic, hidden caves, and the treasure room. The set is full of details and props from the movie, including items like Data’s utility belt and Mouth’s hairbrush. It even features a nod to the famous deleted octopus scene and Sloth’s exciting slide down the Inferno’s mast!
Okay, so the building possibilities here are seriously cool. Once you finish constructing everything, you can actually make boulders drop and even trigger hidden trapdoors using this special “Copper Bones Skeleton Key.” But LEGO gives a little warning about the Skeleton Organ – they say be careful not to hit a wrong note, which sounds…ominous! It definitely adds a fun, interactive element, though.
The set includes not only the model, but also twelve character figures: Mikey, Mouth, Chunk, Andy, Data, the Fratellis family, Sloth, Irving, Irene Walsh, and One-Eyed Willy.
The LEGO Goonies set, priced at $309.99, is quite large, measuring 7 inches wide, over 22 inches long, and more than 14 inches tall. It will be available for purchase starting November 4, 2025, and, true to the spirit of the movie, it’s a collectible you’ll treasure for years to come – because Goonies never say die!
