The Flash: Andy Muschietti Blames Popularity, Ezra Miller, Superhero Fatigue, Women for Failure

In simpler terms, Andy Muschietti attributes a variety of factors to the setbacks faced by the production of The Flash movie, such as the appeal of the character, Ezra Miller, fatigue related to superheroes, and also mentions that perhaps fewer women were interested in attending.

The Flash only brought in $271 million when it was released the Summer of 2023.

The real ending of The Flash was a lot different

It seems plausible that Muschietti is bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), possibly due to his involvement with the “Brave and the Bold” project. This NDA might also be connected to the complications surrounding the “Flash” film.

It seems Muschietti might have been offered “Brave and the Bold” as a way to keep him satisfied, given his previous film’s disappointing reception. However, now there’s speculation that Gunn prefers Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson’s Batman in the DCU instead.

After the premiere of The Flash movie, it was initially intended to carry on with Zack Snyder’s DCEU continuity. However, according to what I’ve heard, David Zaslav instructed James Gunn to recast DC characters using less expensive actors. This led to changes in the original ending of The Flash. Unfortunately, Muschietti wasn’t given the chance to complete his work. Both Henry Cavill and Michael Keaton were replaced. Ben Affleck also stepped away from any potential future collaborations with Gunn, hinting at the situation.

My belief that Muschietti is bound by a non-disclosure agreement is strengthened by the following facts: As my sources indicated, the Visual Effects (VFX) on The Flash were left unfinished, which explains why the movie looked so poor. However, instead of providing clear answers about the VFX issues, Muschietti has been evasive. Moreover, as my insiders revealed, the antagonist for The Flash was supposed to be Professor Zoom, a fact corroborated by Snyder’s DCEU storyboard artist. Yet, when we watched the movie, there seemed to be no villain at all!!!

Note: These are the same individuals who had informed me earlier that Daredevil was going to be revamped, a fact that was later confirmed by industry publications months afterwards. Furthermore, they had also shared with me that in the finale of Superman & Lois, Superman would lose his powers – and that’s precisely what transpired.

As a film enthusiast, I can share some insights about Andy Muschietti’s take on his “The Flash” movie. According to him, the turmoil that surrounded Ezra Miller during that period significantly impacted the production process of our much-anticipated film.

The outcome was due to some personal mental health challenges he was facing. To put it simply, events unfolded as they did. In the process of making a movie, there are factors you have no control over, one being actors’ off-screen issues such as public scandals. Unfortunately, he got into trouble and was arrested in Hawaii, among other things. Despite having a generally positive experience with him, I must admit I was taken aback by his behavior towards the end. This situation occurred several months before the film’s release, close to the premiere, and it certainly caused a delay.

Blames superhero fatigue (which isn’t a thing):

As a film enthusiast, I find myself questioning why The Flash hasn’t garnered the same level of popularity among audiences that some lesser-known comic book characters have achieved. Could it be that we, as moviegoers, are not fully appreciating the depth and potential of this iconic figure? Or perhaps, there is a unique charm in these lesser-known characters that resonates more strongly with us? Regardless, The Flash’s time to shine may just be around the corner.

In time, I began exploring various aspects of filmmaking, including the fact that movies like this one are designed to captivate all four demographic groups – action lovers, drama enthusiasts, comedy fans, and those who prefer romance. However, this particular film, aside from what I previously mentioned, didn’t quite manage to engage all four demographics. When a production budget reaches $200 million, the studio aims to attract viewers from all walks of life, even grandmothers. In subsequent discussions, I discovered that many people found the character of Flash unappealing. Approximately half of those four demographic groups – the female segments – expressed little interest in Flash. These factors worked against the film, but despite them, I am very satisfied with it and wholeheartedly recommend it.

It seems to me that The Flash, as it stands right now, simply doesn’t make a strong film. Contrary to what Muschietti suggests, there are different issues at play here.

Director Muschietti is set to bring us the IT prequel series titled “Welcome to Derry” at Warner Bros., with an expected release this year. A VFX artist involved in the project shared with me that it’s truly impressive.
