The First Critics Reactions to ‘Alien: Romulus’ Are In, and They Are the Same as the Audience Reactions

As a seasoned gamer and sci-fi/horror enthusiast who’s witnessed the evolution of Alien since its inception, I can confidently say that the upcoming Alien: Romulus has me absolutely thrilled! Having followed the franchise closely over the years, I’ve seen some incredible highs and a few disappointing lows. But with Fede Álvarez at the helm, I have faith that we’re in for another nail-biting chapter in the Alien saga.

Few people realize that the Alien franchise, a favorite among sci-fi and horror fans today, was initially conceived by the late writer Dan O’Bannon and his partner Ronald Shusett. It was Ridley Scott who brought it to prominence with his iconic Alien movie, paving the way for its continued success.

As a passionate gamer, I’ve been eagerly following the expansions of this universe, delving into its origins and beyond. However, what truly has me on the edge of my seat is the upcoming chapter – “Alien: Romulus”. Unlike its predecessors that ventured into the past or future, this one is nestled comfortably in the present timeline, sandwiched between the original “Alien” and “Aliens”. The release date for this thrilling adventure has been set for August 16, 2024.

Based on our previous analysis of fan responses and past patterns, it’s no surprise that the initial critic reactions align perfectly with what the fans predicted. It appears that “Alien: Romulus” is set to be a massive success.

As a horror movie enthusiast with over two decades of film-watching under my belt, I am genuinely excited about the upcoming release directed by Fede Álvarez, a renowned name in the genre. Known for his collaborative efforts with Rodo Sayagues, this film promises to be a chilling masterpiece. The composer, Benjamin Wallfisch, is an excellent choice, having previously worked on other horror films that left audiences on the edge of their seats.

Previously, we’ve shared the initial responses from fans, and they were incredibly positive. Now, let’s delve into what the professional reviewers have to say about it.

Fede Alvarez’s #AlienRomulus is intense, captivating, and stunningly bleak – from its narrative to Olivares’ cinematography, Wallfisch’s music, and more. This production thoughtfully presents intelligent and clever elements, subtly reinterpreting classic themes. The performances by Cailee Spaeny and David Jonsson are outstanding, making this a must-watch! It’s fantastic!

I absolutely loved #AlienRomulus! It’s a grisly, monster-filled movie with some exceptionally creative scenes. The third act had me jumping out of my seat in fear. While it seems to encapsulate the best and worst aspects of the Alien series (there was one aspect I wasn’t fond of), it appears that the sequels have finally discovered their stride.

# Alien Romulus – A Frighteningly Gripping Adventure!

This production boasts an array of appealing aspects, including terrifying horror components, vivid visuals, and astonishing creature craftsmanship! David Jonsson delivers a captivating performance that leaves a lasting impression. Yet, it skillfully integrates the most compelling elements of the series, rather than establishing a standalone narrative. Regrettably, the characters may not linger in one’s memory.

In a fantastic turn of events, Alien: Covenant directed by Fede Álvarez has proven to be yet another triumph! This man continues to demonstrate exceptional skill as a director. The film’s ambiance is flawless, and the way the alien creature is portrayed is nothing short of spectacular. However, what truly sets this installment apart is the ingenuity displayed in certain sequences. The third act, in particular, leaves a haunting impression, making it a chilling and memorable experience!
