We’re still thrilled about the upcoming Thunderbolts, but what truly has us on the edge of our seats is the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. For years, we’ve been disappointed with less-than-impressive live-action adaptations of Marvel’s First Family. However, when the first trailer was released, it felt like a breath of fresh air. It seemed that Marvel Studios and director Matt Shakman were finally doing justice to this legendary super team. To make it even better, seeing Pedro Pascal showcasing his stretchy abilities as Mister Fantastic would have been the cherry on top. Fortunately, we’ve found out through Geeks Are Sexy that a LEGO Fantastic Four trailer has been created by YouTuber user Trevor Carlee. You can watch it in full right here:
*Note: “Thunderbolts” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” are fictional titles, but they represent upcoming movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Trevor Carlee’s remake of the teaser trailer is remarkably accurate, capturing the mid-century style perfectly with LEGO animation. We find ourselves preferring his version of H.E.R.B.I.E., the robot, over the one from the actual movie. It appears that The Thing was meant to be a LEGO character all along – transitioning from “rocks” to “bricks” isn’t much of a leap. Even Galactus’ brick-made giant head brings us joy. We predict that there will eventually be an official LEGO version of this. Carlee even shared a side-by-side comparison between the original and LEGO versions of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which you can view below.
Trevor Carlee is a passionate LEGO enthusiast who specializes in animating minifigures. He’s worked on LEGO versions of series such as “Game of Thrones,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and even “Succession.” His latest LEGO films were for the new Superman trailer and several scenes featuring Deadpool and Wolverine, specifically for a teaser for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” Given his past work, we’re eagerly waiting to see Carlee create a LEGO version of the full trailer. It would be fascinating to witness Mr. Fantastic show off his elastic powers in LEGO form!
