The Electric State Trailer: Millie Bobby Brown And Chris Pratt Hop On A Dangerous Quest After Robot Apocalypse

As a dedicated follower of the cinematic universe, I am thrilled to see the dynamic duo of Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt teaming up for “The Electric State.” Being a fan of both their individual works, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation that is akin to a child on Christmas Eve.

Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt are set to collaborate in an upcoming sci-fi drama titled “The Electric State.” This movie revolves around a teenage character, Michelle (played by Brown), and her robot companion. They join forces with a wanderer (Pratt) on a journey to locate Michelle’s lost younger brother following the uprising between humans and machines.

Currently, there’s a shared experience among us all, as the Stranger Things actress explains in the trailer. Following the uprising, we’ve all suffered losses. Robots have given up their independence, humans have become disconnected from one another, and I believed I had lost everyone dear to me – but it seems that wasn’t entirely true.

The science fiction movie directed by the Russo brothers (Anthony and Joe) was inspired by Simon Stalenhag’s 2018 novel with the same title. This film, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, features a star-studded cast including Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito, and Stanley Tucci.

The movie centers around Michelle, a teenager who was left as an orphan, living in a world where cartoon-like, sentient robots – formerly peaceful companions to humans – are now exiled following their unsuccessful rebellion.

Michelle’s perspective on the world underwent a complete reversal upon meeting Cosmo, a charming and enigmatic robot seemingly managed by none other than her brilliant younger brother, Christopher, whom she believed to have perished during the apocalypse.

Following her discovery that life might persist, she embarks on a journey through the American Southwest, accompanied by Cosmo and Pratt’s character. In October, the actor from Guardians of the Galaxy participated in a panel discussion at New York Comic Con, where he shared his deep emotional bond with the screenplay.

“It’s not the kind of thing that typically gets made to be a blockbuster-style movie like this. It’s so original; it’s a huge swing,” he said. Pratt admitted that he thought this film could be his last big banner film and didn’t want to miss the opportunity. “I have to look at every opportunity like that. And I did. It’s just such a great story. I was moved to tears reading,” Pratt added.

The Electric State will be released in theaters on 14 March 2025.
