Next year, the follow-up to the beloved 2006 movie is slated for release on our screens. This upcoming flick was officially unveiled in July 2024, with the production companies assuring fans that the entire original cast will be reprising their roles for this new film.

As per Variety’s reports, the forthcoming film centers on Priestly as she maneuvers her professional path during the wane of conventional magazines.

In the summary of the movie, it is indicated that the sequel portrays Priestly who is struggling to advance in her profession amidst the fall of conventional magazine publishing. She also encounters Blunt’s character, now a prominent executive for an upscale corporation, whose advertising funds are vital for Priestly but pose a challenge.

Primarily, the main body of the movie will draw heavily from the themes presented in the book “Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns,” published in 2013. This sequel to the original story arrived approximately ten years later.

It is clear that Andy and Emily will become the leading editors of the magazine. Meanwhile, while everything seems okay, Miranda continues her secret attempts to delve into Andy’s personal affairs once more.

In the new sequel, it’s David Frankel who will be taking up directorial duties, as he did with the first movie. Notably, the original producers and scriptwriter are also rejoining the team for this upcoming production.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 will release in theaters on May 1, 2026.
