I’ve watched The Boys since its inception, and let me tell you, this latest season has left me utterly speechless. As a long-time fan of the comic series, I thought I was prepared for the twists and turns that come with this dark and gritty superhero storyline. But Victoria Neuman’s tragic demise in the finale left me reeling.
In the finale of “The Boys” season four, we were prepared for an intense and deadly conclusion. With Robert Singer under threat from an assassination plot, a shape-shifter disguised as Starlight creating chaos, and the Boys determined to take down Homelander, it was clear that there would be fatalities. However, we weren’t anticipating the shocking turn of events: Victoria Neuman met her end in unexpected circumstances. Let’s revisit her heroic last stand in this episode.
Homelander Outs Victoria Neuman as a Supe on National Television
I, Victoria Neuman, was still on board with Homelander’s scheme for me to be the first superpowered President. We went on VNN together with Firecracker to discuss my role as Vice President. However, Homelander unexpectedly veered off course. His anger was already simmering due to Ryan having a photo of Butcher and Becca in his bag. In a fit of rage, Homelander exposed me as a superpowered individual on live TV once again. I was enraged and tried to refute his claims, but it was a futile effort after Homelander threatened me with his laser vision.
While Homelander thinks that the shapeshifter intends to kill Robert Singer in order to alter the world together with her, an unexpected turn of events occurs. The Boys uncover Starlight’s true identity as the assassin, leaving Homelander’s plan in shambles. Eventually, the genuine Starlight emerges and collaborates with them to vanquish the assassin. Consequently, agents manage to conceal Robert Singer in a more clandestine hideout.
Victoria Neuman Attempts to Team Up With the Boys
She begins to deeply regret her alliance with Homelander, especially after he threatens to murder lots of people and rip Zoe to shreds if Victoria steps out of line. She calls Hughie, saying she cannot go along with this because she will just be Homelander’s puppet. Victoria says she will resign from her position without a fight. However, she needs the Boys to get the CIA off her back and help her and Zoe disappear. Hughie is upset at first for obvious reasons but she reminds him that they also betrayed her. She’s legitimately scared and doesn’t want her daughter to die over this mess.
Butcher Kills Victoria Neuman and Leaves With the Supe Killing Virus
In the end, The Boys reluctantly decide to collaborate with him, keeping a wary eye on him due to the lethal supe virus he wields. Victoria shares the location of Zoe, and they gather to formulate a plan. However, Butcher unexpectedly appears in good health. It seems that merging with his inner evil has positively affected his body. He utilizes tentacles from his chest to overpower everyone while brutally killing Victoria Neuman. With her eyes concealed, she can’t use her powers to save herself. Butcher smirks and departs with the virus. As expected, this decision inflicts severe consequences on his former allies and the world.
The Impact of Victoria Neuman’s Death in The Boys Universe
The Boys Are Blamed for Victoria Neuman’s Death and Taken Into Custody
I’ve seen my fair share of chaos and confusion in this world of supers, but nothing quite compares to the events that transpired recently. Sage, the mastermind behind it all, had a plan that was more intricate than a Rubik’s cube. Some parts she kept hidden from Homelander, who let’s be honest, isn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
Homelander Basically Becomes the President and America Is Under Supe Control
Zoe winds up at Red River Institute, a place her mother likely hoped she’d never reach. At this moment, Stan Edgar and Sameer’s whereabouts are uncertain. Following suit is Speaker of the House, Mr. Calhoun, who swears loyalty to Homelander. He swiftly imposes martial law, with supes in command. All patrolling supes will now report directly to Homelander. Delighted by her success, Sage relishes her role as an advisor to him. (This version aims for a clear and conversational tone.)
Butcher Goes Off on His Own to Be Absolutely Unhinged
As a fan, I can’t help but feel uneasy as I watch Butcher take off with the supe virus in hand, heading towards an unknown destination. With no team, no Ryan, and no Grace Mallory to keep him grounded, Joe Kessler is the only voice of reason left, but even he seems unreasonable at times. The death of Victoria Neuman was something we thought the Boys wanted so desperately, but looking back, it might have been the worst thing that’s ever happened to them. Now we’re left waiting anxiously to see how this saga ends when “The Boys” returns for its fifth and final season.
