The Best Movies to Watch on Disney+ in February 2026

As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited about what Disney+ is bringing in February 2026! They’re seriously beefing up their library with a ton of different stuff – big, exciting blockbusters, those comforting classics we all grew up with, and some seriously gripping thrillers. It looks like they’ve got something for everyone, whether you’re looking for family night entertainment or something a little more intense. They’re covering all the bases, from animated favorites to really raw, edge-of-your-seat stories. Plus, it’s awesome to see them adding new installments to franchises I love and also introducing fresh stories helmed by some seriously talented directors.

‘The Muppet Show’ (2026)

This new movie brings back the beloved Muppets for a big, lively variety show! Kermit the Frog is back as host, trying to keep everything running smoothly both backstage and during the performances. The show updates the classic variety format with modern touches, but still keeps the funny and musical spirit of the original. It includes appearances by famous faces and impressive musical numbers created for today’s audiences. The story follows the Muppets as they work to create their biggest and most spectacular show ever.

‘Ella McCay’ (2025)

This comedy-drama, directed by James L. Brooks, centers on a hopeful young politician and the ups and downs of her life, both at work and at home. Emma Mackey plays the lead role, showing how she juggles the pressures of public service with the demands of her family. The story looks at the difficulties of staying true to your beliefs in today’s political world. As she aims for a more important position, McCay has to find a balance between what she believes in and how things actually work in government. The film is a return to the director’s signature style of focusing on compelling characters.

‘TRON: Ares’ (2025)

Jared Leto plays Ares, a very advanced program, in this new sci-fi addition to the ‘TRON’ story. The film follows Ares as he’s sent from the digital world – known as the Grid – into our human world for a crucial mission. This is the first time the series has shown what happens when digital beings directly interact with human life. Using impressive visual effects, the movie highlights the differences between these two worlds. As Ares navigates human society, his important mission puts both the digital and real worlds at risk.

‘Predator: Badlands’ (2025)

This thrilling survival story takes place in the near future and follows two siblings who are relentlessly hunted. They must use their wits and work together to survive in a dangerous wilderness while being pursued by a powerful, technologically advanced alien. This installment focuses on the bond between the siblings and their ability to overcome challenges, and it introduces new and terrifying hunting strategies for the Predator. Like previous films, this one places the alien hunter in a completely new and challenging environment, ramping up the suspense.

‘Dead Girl Summer’ (2025)

A group of college friends reunite for one last summer getaway at a remote lake house, but their trip quickly turns unsettling when one of them vanishes, echoing a past tragedy. As they search for their missing friend, long-held secrets are revealed, testing the bonds of their friendships. The story builds tension while exploring themes of guilt and how the past continues to affect the present. The group is left wondering if a stranger is responsible, or if the danger lies within their own ranks.

‘Trapped in Her Dorm Room’ (2025)

During spring break, a college student’s life takes a terrifying turn when she’s held hostage in her dorm room by a classmate who has been obsessively planning this for some time. With the campus deserted, the film creates a tense, confined atmosphere as she tries to trick her captor and break free. The story centers on the intense psychological struggle between them and her desperate attempt to survive, delving into the unsettling aspects of obsession and social relationships on a college campus.

‘Inside Out 2’ (2024)

This Pixar sequel brings back Riley as a teenager, and explores the complicated feelings that come with growing up. Inside her mind, Joy and her friends now have to learn to work with new emotions like Anxiety and Ennui as Riley navigates the challenges of puberty. The movie beautifully shows what’s happening inside Riley’s head as she deals with changes in her friendships and personal feelings. It builds on the world of the first ‘Inside Out’ film, and touches on the relatable experiences of becoming a young adult.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ (2022)

More than ten years after the first movie, this exciting story follows Jake Sully and Neytiri as they raise their family. When an old enemy reappears, they must leave their home in the forest and find safety with the Metkayina, a Na’vi clan that lives by the ocean. This introduces audiences to a beautiful new part of Pandora and a different Na’vi culture. The film highlights the strength of family and the deep connection the Na’vi have with their environment, brought to life with amazing new underwater visual effects.

‘Prey’ (2022)

I was completely gripped by this sci-fi thriller! It’s set way back in 1719, within the Comanche Nation, and follows a young woman named Naru. She’s an incredible warrior, and the story is about how she steps up to defend her people from this really advanced, mysterious predator. It’s a raw, intense fight for survival where she relies on her skills, knowledge of the land, and traditional weapons against something totally alien. What’s really cool is that it shows how the ‘Predator’ first came to Earth and gives a historical background to it all. But beyond the action, it’s also Naru’s story – watching her grow and fight to prove herself as a hunter was truly inspiring.

‘A Roommate to Die For’ (2023)

A woman thinks she’s found the perfect roommate and living situation, but things quickly turn terrifying as her roommate’s behavior becomes more and more disturbing. This psychological thriller explores the feeling of losing safety and privacy in your own home. As the woman learns more about her roommate’s past, she must fight to escape the growing danger, with the story building suspense through mounting tension and the slow reveal of the roommate’s hidden intentions.

‘Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess’ (2012)

This animated movie kicks off the Disney Junior series following Sofia, a young girl whose life is turned upside down when her mother marries the King. Suddenly a commoner, Sofia becomes a princess and has to quickly learn how to navigate royal life. Luckily, she gets help from her animal friends and teachers at Royal Prep Academy. The movie also includes a visit from Cinderella, who shares valuable lessons about what it truly means to be a princess. It sets the stage for the series’ focus on being kind and discovering who you are.

‘Rio’ (2011)

Blu is a friendly, blue macaw who has always lived a sheltered life in Minnesota and can’t fly. His world changes when he travels to Rio de Janeiro to meet Jewel, the last female macaw like him. But their meeting is interrupted when they’re both kidnapped by smugglers! Blu has to find his inner courage and learn to fly to escape and get back home. The movie is known for its bright, colorful animation, lively music, and beautiful portrayal of Brazil.

‘Despicable Me 2’ (2013)

This animated movie continues the story of Gru, a former supervillain who’s now a dad raising his three daughters. His quiet family life is turned upside down when he’s asked to help an organization called the Anti-Villain League catch a new bad guy. Working with secret agent Lucy Wilde, Gru uses his past knowledge to stop the criminal. The film shows Gru becoming a hero and how his unique family grows closer. Meanwhile, his little helpers, the Minions, get caught up in a strange mystery involving a powerful purple liquid.

‘The Princess and the Frog’ (2009)

This beautifully animated film takes place in lively 1920s New Orleans and tells the story of Tiana, a young woman who dreams of owning a restaurant. Her life changes unexpectedly when a kiss on a frog prince goes wrong, turning her into a frog too! Together, she and the prince set off on an adventure through the Louisiana bayou, searching for a voodoo priestess who can break the spell. They’re joined by fun and helpful friends – an alligator who plays the trumpet and a glowing firefly – as they face the challenges of the swamp. The film combines classic fairytale themes with the energy of jazz music and the rich culture of New Orleans folklore.

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ (2006)

Andrea Sachs, a young woman hoping to become a journalist, gets a job at the high-fashion magazine ‘Runway’. She ends up as the assistant to Miranda Priestly, a demanding and intimidating editor-in-chief. The movie follows Andrea’s challenges as she tries to navigate the competitive world of fashion and hold onto her personal life. As she learns the ropes, she begins to see what it takes to succeed at the very top. The film is a witty and insightful comedy-drama, known for its clever writing and realistic depiction of office life.
