‘That’s So Deep And So Important’: José Andrés Praises Jennifer Garner For Helping Out Victims Amid L.A. Wildfires

Jose Andres, head of the World Central Kitchen, tirelessly aids Los Angeles wildfire victims and frontline workers by offering assistance. Jennifer Garner selflessly donated her time to this organization, preparing meals for the impacted families and workers.

On January 10th, I became a part of Andrés’s team, joining forces to collect food from our restaurant and food truck partners and distribute it. During the Cayman Cookout event at The Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman, Andrés shared with People magazine that working alongside Garner felt like collaborating with an old friend, despite us having no prior acquaintance.

He expressed, “She seems like a friend I’ve known since childhood.” He went on to say, “I never had to instruct her on what to do, as she always found ways to keep busy on her own.” The restaurant owner shared that the actress, Elektra in disguise, was giving warm embraces and serving food to the people.

He pointed out that although the gesture might be overlooked by some, it carries a profound influence on an individual, particularly on those who have experienced disasters. “I believe this is similar to a psychological concern that I don’t think many people are aware of, yet it’s so significant and crucial,” he further stated.

He also thanked everyone who took time out to assist him, no matter the duration, referring to them as remarkable individuals. The founder of World Central Kitchen highlighted that these individuals, particularly celebrities, aided in locations absent of media attention, which adds uniqueness to their acts of kindness.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to address a topic that recently caught my attention: the praiseworthy actions of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in assisting L.A. wildfire survivors. Their heartwarming deeds, which spread like wildfire online, were not met with accolades alone; they also faced criticism. However, it’s essential to acknowledge their genuine efforts, which were not orchestrated for the spotlight but rather born out of compassion and a desire to help those in need.

In an interview with NBC News, Garner openly disclosed that she employed her “famous connections” to support WCK’s initiatives. “It feels like you should use your abilities for good,” she stated. She subsequently reached out to Andrés to offer assistance, and he warmly welcomed her help.
