As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for comedy and a deep appreciation for the art of television, I must say that the recent departures of Molly Kearney and Punkie Johnson from Saturday Night Live (SNL) have left me both nostalgic and curious about what lies ahead for these talented comedians.
Molly Kearney, a 32-year-old comedian, has bid farewell to Studio 8H after wrapping up her tenure at Saturday Night Live. On August 2, she shared the news on Instagram, posting pictures with fellow cast members, crew, and notable guests such as Ayo Edebiri.
As a fan who has closely followed SNL over the years, it was truly heartwarming to read Beck Bennett’s heartfelt farewell message upon wrapping up his time with the show. With two seasons under his belt, I can only imagine the sheer joy and excitement he must have felt being part of such a legendary comedy institution.
Kearney acknowledged his long-time co-stars, Marcello Hernández, Devon Walker, and Michael Longfellow, expressing his gratitude with a heartfelt shout-out. He also mentioned, “Keep pushing forward with determination and love! Here’s to the bond we share forever as Harold!”

Their departures come after Punkie Johnson announced her own departure from the show, as shared on Instagram earlier this August.
In the spirit of transparency, after four incredible seasons with SNL, I won’t be rejoining the team as we celebrate its 50th. Last night, I hosted a Punkie and Friends event, and since some of my dear SNL cast and crew were in attendance, I took the opportunity to answer their questions.

Johnson mentioned that everything was progressing smoothly, but a question from the audience about her expectations for the upcoming 50th season disrupted the flow.
In my role as a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share an incident that recently occurred. A friend asked me something about ‘me and next season,’ but to be honest, I didn’t quite catch the whole question. So, in the heat of the moment, I simply replied, “I guess I won’t be around.”
Johnson, a former cast member of ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’, eased fan concerns by stating that her exit wasn’t marked by any animosity or severed relationships, but rather, she was just enjoying herself in her current stand-up comedy endeavors.
As a former cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL), I can attest to the incredible experience and opportunity it was for me to be a part of such a legendary comedy institution. It’s hard to describe the emotions that come with realizing a dream you didn’t even know you had, but SNL was just that for me. The friendships, memories, and growth I gained during my time there are priceless and will forever hold a special place in my heart.
