As a seasoned anime enthusiast who has traversed the realms of countless worlds through the screens of my TV, I must say that the return of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” for a fourth season and a second feature film is truly a cause for celebration. Having been captivated by the series since its inception back in 2018, I can attest to the growth and evolution of this franchise over time.
The beloved anime series “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” is preparing for its fourth season, along with a second feature film, according to Bandai Namco Filmworks and recently reported by ANN. This announcement came after the end of the anime’s third season. To celebrate this fantastic news for fans, a video and visual were shared online.
For six months, the third season of this anime was shown, divided into two segments, a common television structure where a season is broken down. It concluded with its last episode, number 24 of the season and the 72nd in total, on a Friday. Crunchyroll broadcasted the series worldwide, and also offered an English dub for those who prefer it.
For the third season, some crucial team members from previous seasons rejoined the production crew. Atsushi Nakayama took charge of directing the anime at studio 8-Bit again. Toshizo Nemoto, who had contributed to the spin-off series “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Visions of Coleus,” oversaw the script supervision. Meanwhile, Ryōma Ebata resumed his role as character designer, and Hitoshi Fujima from Elements Garden came back to compose the music, having held this position in the film “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond” before.
The adventure for this anime kicked off in October 2018 when its first season debuted, inspired by Taiki Kawakami’s manga and the light novel series written by Fuse and Mitz Vah. A second season followed in January 2021, and later in the same year, a spin-off titled “The Slime Diaries” was introduced, premiering in April. After its initial airing, the remaining half of the second season returned in July 2021, offering fans nine uninterrupted months of content from the world of Slime.
The franchise also ventured into cinema, as the initial movie, “Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond,” premiered in Japan during November 2022. Furthermore, a three-episode OVA named “Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus’ Dream” was launched in November 2023. This brief series can be streamed on Crunchyroll, offering both subtitles and an English voiceover.
