Lionsgate has unveiled the authentic trailer for the spine-tingling horror movie, “Bagman,” due in cinemas this autumn. Helmed by Colm McCarthy, who is recognized for “Outcast” and “The Girl with All the Gifts,” this film explores a bone-chilling urban legend. The narrative centers around Patrick McKee, portrayed by Sam Claflin, who faces off against a monstrous creature from his past that has resurfaced to endanger his loved ones.

The introduction to this intriguing tale begins with a woman sharing the age-old legend of the Bagman. This enigmatic character holds global recognition in various forms. In the chilling horror movie known as “Bagman”, a family unwillingly steps into a terrifying ordeal when they’re pursued by a wicked, ancient being. The Bagman, a dreadful creature of legend, is said to kidnap children and store them in his putrid, decaying sack – with no trace of their whereabouts ever found again.

The narrative proceeded, revealing that as a young lad, Patrick McKee (Sam Claflin) came perilously close to a fateful encounter which left indelible marks on him for life. In the present day, it’s Patrick’s childhood tormentor who resurfaces, posing a danger not only to Patrick himself but also to his wife Karina (Antonia Thomas) and son Jake (Caréll Rhoden).

In addition to Antonia Thomas, known for her roles in “The Good Doctor” and “Love Sick,” portraying Patrick’s spouse Karina, and Caréll Vincent Rhoden as their child Jake, the film boasts a talented cast that includes William Hope, Steven Cree, and Frankie Corio. Produced by Marty Bowen, John Fischer, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner, “Bagman” is Lionsgate’s latest horror production. Previously, they released terrifying films such as “Imaginary” and “The Strangers: Chapter 1.”

In an interview with Collider, Director Colm McCarthy shared, “John Hume’s script resonated with me upon first read due to its folk horror undertones and the profound fatherly fear that Pat encounters. No parent can fathom the terror of recognizing a threat to their child and being incapable of shielding them.”
