‘Temp Worker in the Underworld’ Webtoon to Start Official Serialization After 10 Years of Being on an Amateur Platform

On January 15th, it was announced by Naver WEBTOON that the comic series titled “Temp Worker in Underworld” will start its official publication in April.

Following almost a decade on the Best Challenge platform of Naver WEBTOON, this lengthy series has now been selected for publication. Over 300 episodes have already been produced, garnering a devoted fanbase while it was still an ongoing, non-serial work.

The narrative revolves around Do-Jin Lee, a young man in search of temporary employment to aid his disabled little sister. However, his life undergoes a significant change when he encounters a grim reaper. This unusual encounter leads to an unconventional alliance between the two characters. Their bond results in them protecting souls, which in turn, sets the stage for thrilling and otherworldly escapades.

In the announcement, the creator of the series, Skuldness, expressed their enthusiasm, stating, ‘It feels as though I’m setting sail on an epic voyage across a boundless sea, with readers joining me on my humble webtoon vessel.’

As a long-time fan, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia as the series I grew up with is officially being serialized. Reading this comic when I was younger, and now experiencing it as an adult, it feels surreal!
