As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for music and pop culture trends, I must say that Taylor Swift continues to impress me with her unstoppable momentum. With yet another No. 1 album under her belt, she’s proving once again why she is one of the most influential artists of our time.
As a devoted fan of Taylor Swift, I’m ecstatic to share that I’ve once again found myself at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. This triumphant return is thanks to the highly-anticipated physical release of the Tortured Poets Department deluxe Anthology issue for the artist of Cruel Summer.
For the sixteenth time, not consecutively, the artist known for her “I Knew You Were Trouble” hit single currently holds the number one position.
On Black Friday, a special edition of the highly regarded TTPD album was exclusively launched as a four-LP and two-CD collection, accessible solely through Target stores. As per Luminate’s data reported by Variety, it is estimated that around 405,000 copies of the album were sold in the United States during its initial full week on sale.
From this sum, conventional album sales contributed to an impressive 368,000 copies, once again setting a new record for Taylor Swift’s sales performance. This latest feat surpasses her previous record for the highest sales week for any album since the establishment of The Tortured Poets Department.
In its second week on sale, the initial album managed approximately 439,000 copies. For the uninitiated, it’s worth noting that the album had already sold a staggering 2.6 million copies upon its debut.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that the vinyl version of the special edition album sold approximately 191,000 units, compared to about 177,000 CD sales. In total, this equates to around 368,000 copies being sold.
Additionally, the artist behind “Look What You Made Me Do” has accomplished numerous other feats since the previous year.
In her Eras tour, Taylor Swift broke records by becoming the artist to stage the largest live concert tour ever. Furthermore, she was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year in 2023, as the singer behind the hit Don’t Blame Me.
During her global travels, Taylor Swift has also released the albums that were once held back due to unusual contractual agreements.
The Tortured Poets Department was released on April 19, 2024.
