As a die-hard Swiftie with over a decade of memories etched into her discography, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions reading about Taylor Swift‘s latest turn of events. On one hand, it’s heartbreaking to see yet another concert date being canceled due to security concerns. But on the other, I’m absolutely thrilled that Disney and ORF have stepped up to give us a glimpse of The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)!

In a thoughtful move, pop sensation Taylor Swift ensured her fans in Austria wouldn’t be disappointed when regular shows were cancelled due to a thwarted terrorist plan. Instead, Swift and Disney provided them with a unique opportunity to watch the Eras Tour concert movie!

In collaboration with Austrian television network ORF, Disney has arranged for the Disney+ film Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) to be broadcast for free in Austria on August 10, 2024. Additionally, Disney+ is providing a complimentary seven-day trial of Disney+ Premium access for those interested in streaming the movie starting from August 10.

On August 8, Swift had planned to give a performance in Vienna for the European tour segment. Unfortunately, the event was called off following worries expressed by government authorities regarding potential terrorist activity.

In line with recent reports from PEOPLE and the Associated Press, I personally have learned that local authorities in Vienna took action against a potential threat to Taylor Swift’s concerts at the Ernst Happel Stadium on August 8th, 9th, and 10th. Initially, they apprehended two individuals linked to the planned attack. Subsequently, another male suspect was detained the following day. I am closely monitoring this situation and hope for a swift resolution ensuring safety for everyone involved.

After the arrests, the concert organizer announced on Instagram that they were forced to call off the three upcoming events for everyone’s security. This announcement was later shared as a story on Taylor Nation’s official Instagram account.

The very next day after hearing about the cancellation of the concert, I found myself deluged with messages on my preferred social media platform, showering praise upon the pop icon for her unwavering dedication to the well-being of her followers, affectionately known as Swifties.

It’s said that Swift is deeply saddened by the cancelation, understanding the dismay among her fans. According to a source speaking to The Mirror, Swift is optimistic about returning to Vienna at the earliest opportunity.

During a similar event in 2017, the pop sensation Ariana Grande’s performance was suddenly disrupted when a bomb detonated at Manchester Arena following her concert, causing numerous injuries and fatalities. The explosion was carried out by suicide bomber Salman Abedi.

In the meantime, Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour is moving on to London for a series of performances. Specifically, she will play five shows at Wembley Stadium from August 15th to August 20th, 2024.
