UPDATE 10:34 AM EDT: Performance details have been revealed for the new Tales of Xillia Remastered.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of this game can be played in stunning 4K resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second (fps). For those with an Xbox Series S, you’ll still get a great gaming experience at 1440p resolution, also running at 60 fps. On personal computers, the game offers even smoother performance, supporting up to a swift 120 fps.
For PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Series S: The Tales of Xillia Remastered runs at 2160p resolution with a frame rate of 60 frames per second (on PS5/Xbox Series X) or 1440p on the Series S.
For PC: The game supports up to 2160p resolution and offers a choice of running at 30, 60, or even 120 frames per second.
For Nintendo Switch: On TV, Tales of Xillia Remastered runs at 1080p with a frame rate of 30 fps. When played in handheld mode, it drops to 720p and maintains the same frame rate.

Regrettably, the Nintendo Switch edition runs at a frame rate of 30 frames per second in both portable and TV mode. However, it maintains the same screen resolution in both settings. As of now, no information regarding an upgrade for Switch 2 has been disclosed.
Original story follows.
The beloved Tales RPG series is getting another remaster, though this one is likely to divide fans.
On October 31, 2025, Tales of Xillia Remastered will be released across several platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC through Steam. This information was shared in a trailer posted on the Bandai Namco Entertainment YouTube channel.
This updated version showcases several user-friendly upgrades, such as a fresh destination marker, an option to turn off enemy conflicts, and all downloadable content from the original game included. It seems poised to become the ultimate edition of Tales of Xillia, previously exclusive to PS3 but now available on other platforms.
One key point to note is that Tales of Xillia 2, which is generally considered one of the stronger direct sequels in the series, is not included in the package as it remains exclusive to the PlayStation 3. This situation is particularly unfortunate because the game was recently removed from the PS3 digital store, making it even harder for players to access.
Indeed, it’s worth noting that even though the times may have changed, Tales of Xillia remains a highly favored title among fans. This game represents a daring evolution in the familiar Tales universe, both in its setting and narrative style. You have the option to start your journey as either Jude or Milla, each character offering unique scenes and viewpoints that are exclusive to them.
According to the Tales of Graces F remaster, it’s expected that Tales of Xillia will offer smooth 60 fps gameplay and high resolution support upon its release on October 31st. An enhanced Deluxe Edition is planned, containing a digital artbook, soundtrack, alternative battle background music, and a Super Growth Support Herb Set. As a pre-order incentive, players will receive a complimentary pack of fundamental support items.
