Sweeney has been very busy lately. In the past year, she’s worked on several large projects, including the movie Echo Valley with Julianne Moore, for which she also learned how to ride horses.
I was really excited to see her in Americana, even though it didn’t do well in theaters – critics were kind of split on it. But one project I was especially thrilled about was Christy, a movie about the incredible boxer Christy Martin. She didn’t just act in it, she actually helped produce it too! She told me she was just blown away by Christy Martin’s strength and determination as a woman, and it really inspired her. She also said she’s incredibly proud of the film, and that sometimes you make art not just to make money, but to actually make a difference, and that really resonated with me.
This year, Sweeney appeared in the film The Housemaid with Amanda Seyfried. Fans can also look forward to her return in Season 3 of HBO’s Euphoria, which is slated to premiere in April. Additionally, she will play Kim Novak in the upcoming drama Scandalous, directed by Colman Domingo, with filming scheduled to begin in early 2026.
