Sydney Sweeney has announced that her character, Cassie, in Euphoria will explore the depths of madness even more in Season 3, with the show set to air sometime between late 2025 and early 2026.
On The Tonight Show with the ever-charming Jimmy Fallon, I gleefully shared that my character Cassie has taken her quirkiness to a whole new level this season! When he inquired if Cassie’s instability persists, I didn’t mince words – she’s downright worse than before, eliciting hearty chuckles from the audience.
Fallon mentioned an image found online suggesting Sweeney in a wedding dress, implying a potential storyline about Cassie’s marriage. When directly questioned about it, Sweeney was secretive, merely stating, “I can neither confirm nor deny,” and playfully hinted that the picture might have been artificially produced instead.
Cassie’s spiral continues in Season 3
In a different discussion with Empire Magazine, Sweeney explained Cassie’s state of mind in the latest Euphoria series. She noted that Cassie appears to be at her happiest, yet also the most unstable. She confessed that Cassie is indeed imperfect, repeatedly making emotional blunders, but these stem from a melancholic expression of affection which she referred to as “a sorrowful form of love.
As reported by Sweeney, she collaborated extensively with series creator Sam Levinson to intensify the character’s development. She said, “I might read something, then I’d call him and suggest, ‘Let’s make it even more intense,’ and he was always eager. This season is definitely over-the-top.
Euphoria Season 3 production
In January 2025, production for Euphoria’s third season commenced, with stars like Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and others reprising their roles. The narrative is expected to build upon the deeply somber storyline of Season 2, delving deeper into Cassie’s secret relationship with her best friend’s vindictive ex-boyfriend, Nate.
