Exciting news for “Supernatural” fans! The actors Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, and Jensen Ackles, who previously starred together on the show, have officially agreed to appear in the fifth and final season of “The Boys.
According to Variety, their specific roles are yet undisclosed, but the new addition brings completion to series creator Eric Kripke’s long-held ambition of incorporating Jensen Ackles (Padalecki) into the show. Previously, Kripke had humorously referred to this as filling his Supernatural ‘Pokémon set,’ implying that Ackles was the last major cast member he needed to recruit.
In an interview last year with Variety, I openly shared that discussions were underway for Jared Padalecki to join our series during its final run. Expressing my feelings, I said, “I admire him, and I always aim to collaborate with those I admire.
Regarding Padalecki, Kripke stated, “It seems I must capture the final Pokémon in my ‘Supernatural’ collection, and I only have the largest one remaining to find.
Ackles, known for his role as Soldier Boy in The Boys, is not the sole Supernatural veteran appearing in the series. Additionally, there are several other recognizable figures from the same franchise, including Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jim Beaver, and Rob Benedict.
For those unfamiliar, Padalecki and Ackles previously acted alongside each other for an impressive 15 seasons on Supernatural, a series that ran from 2005 to 2020. Jensen took on the role of Dean Winchester, while Jared portrayed Sam Winchester, two brothers who hunted various supernatural entities.
During those 12 seasons, Collins portrayed Castiel, as well as various other characters. The beloved show came to an end after airing a total of 327 episodes on November 19, 2020.
