Superman Hits Theaters July 11
In this new take, the DC Universe’s first film under the leadership of co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran is being helmed by Gunn himself, who is in charge of both writing and directing. The cast includes David Corenswet portraying Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult stepping into the role of Lex Luthor.
In contrast to previous versions, the revamped Superman character is depicted as being guided by optimism, empathy, and an indomitable faith in human kindness. Gunn assures us that this rendition will blend thrilling action sequences, emotional depth, and a touch of comedy, serving as a foundation for the upcoming DC Universe’s atmosphere.
Who stars?
David Corenswet portrays Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan assumes the role of Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult embodies Lex Luthor. The ensemble cast features Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell.
(In this version, the focus is on the actors “playing” or “embodying” their roles rather than “stars,” which may seem more formal or technical to some readers.)
Behind the movie
In front of the camera, Gunn works alongside cinematographer Henry Braham, set designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, music composers John Murphy and David Fleming, and editors William Hoy, Jason Ballantine, and Craig Alpert. The production is led by Gunn and Peter Safran, with Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther overseeing the project as executive producers.
Release info
