Superman Star Rachel Brosnahan Reacts ‘Positive’ Fan Response; Shares Her Experience Working With James Gunn

Rachel Brosnahan, known for portraying Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman movie from the DC universe, shared her experiences from the film set. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the talented star of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ expressed that she thoroughly enjoyed working on the superhero production.

As a fortunate participant, I can honestly say that collaborating with director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran has been an absolute pleasure. What makes this experience even more meaningful is learning that Gunn’s long-cherished dream was to create a Superman film. To contribute to someone else’s realization of their dreams adds a unique, invigorating energy on set for me – it’s truly a privilege to be involved in such projects.

When the media queried her for her thoughts on the audience’s reaction to the Superman trailer, Brosnahan replied that it was “incredibly intense, yet favorable.” She finds it hard to fathom that such a large number of individuals had even viewed the trailer.

In this upcoming production, Rachel Brosnahan’s portrayal of Lois Lane will be alongside David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman. Regarding her costar, Brosnahan referred to him as a “Superman enthusiast.” Given that Gunn has been meticulous with his vision and has been deeply engrossed in the comic book for years, this passion seemed to rub off on both of them, making their time together quite enjoyable.

At the same time, the actress found it incredibly inspiring to see director Gunn bring his vision to life. Notably, her character, Lois Lane, is widely recognized in the DC universe as a skilled journalist and romantic partner of Clark Kent.

For several decades, Brosnahan’s character has been well-known, particularly among comic book enthusiasts. As a result, she had quite a bit to measure up to. To better understand the mindset of a contemporary journalist for her role, the actress shared that she spoke with journalists as part of her preparation.

Additionally, she revealed that her character, Lois Lane, has undergone significant transformations since its initial creation. These changes were primarily made to adapt her to the contemporary, fast-paced, and complex world of journalism. The journalists she interacted with played a crucial role in shaping this revised portrayal of Lois Lane.

Superman will hit the theaters on July 11.
