SUPERMAN Sneak Peek Shows Us Krypto the Superdog Saving the Day

James Gunn’s upcoming movie version of Superman, set to launch a fresh DC Universe, is just a few months off. However, Warner Bros. and DC Studios have unveiled an extended sneak peek of the eagerly awaited film, offering a complete view of a scene hinted at in the trailer—Krypto the Superdog coming to the rescue of his master, Kal-El. This scene was premiered at CinemaCon and will be shown before the Minecraft movie. Scenes similar to those previously shown in the trailer follow Krypto’s scene, but with added dialogue. As I watched the thrilling scene unfold, it was evident that Superman had met his match against an unidentified foe, leaving him bruised and bleeding in the icy wilderness. In a desperate bid for help, he called out to none other than Krypto, his loyal canine sidekick. The super-powered pup, with his heart as pure as steel, swiftly latched onto Superman’s cape and propelled him at breakneck speed towards the Fortress of Solitude.

The Fortress bore a striking resemblance to the iconic one depicted in Richard Donner’s 1978 film, “Superman,” but also showcased aspects reminiscent of DC Comics’ Silver Age Superman stories – such as the massive door that could only be opened by voice command. Inside, his mechanical guardians tended to Superman’s wounds, a nod to the rich history of DC Comics lore.

To my delight, Alan Tudyk lent his voice to one of these robots, who until now had remained an enigma in the storyline. This addition added another layer of excitement to the classic DC Comics experience.

Inside the Fortress, Superman recovers from his wounds due to a large amount of yellow sunshine. Enhanced by Kryptonian tech, naturally. This scene brings back that iconic Superman feeling, something that’s been scarce in recent live-action adaptations. The rest of the clips are expanded versions of scenes from the initial trailer. However, we get to hear Nicholas Hoult’s voice as Lex Luthor for the first time. Needless to say, we’re incredibly thrilled about the upcoming cinematic reappearance of the Last Son of Krypton this summer.

Superman arrives in theaters everywhere on July 11.
