A closer examination by fans, as reported by Comic Book Movie, has revealed an intriguing detail in the documentary: a storyboard depicting Superman, Supergirl, and Krypto flying together alongside what appears to be Brainiac’s unmistakable head. Could it be that the forthcoming film being penned by Gunn will feature a Superman Family adventure, pitting the El family against the malevolent extraterrestrial artificial intelligence?

As a die-hard film aficionado, it’s intriguing to learn from Gunn’s social media posts that Brainiac was once mulled over as an adversary for Superman. Given his significant role as one of Steel’s most formidable foes, ranking just below Lex Luthor, it’s a wonder we haven’t seen him on the big screen yet. Despite numerous attempts to bring Luthor and General Zod to life, Brainiac has remained untouched in live-action films. It’s high time this alien android from Colu (or Krypton, as depicted in Superman: The Animated Series) graced our cinema screens. Although the TV series Krypton offered a decent portrayal of Brainiac on a modestly budgeted production, I have no doubt that Gunn could deliver an even more captivating adaptation.
In a fascinating twist of events, Brainiac, an old acquaintance of Krypton, once miniaturized its capital city, Kandor, and its residents to store them in a container. This intriguing backstory suggests that a joint escapade involving the entire Superman family could be an exciting possibility. In the comic books, Kara Zor-El, Supergirl, has childhood memories of Brainiac’s visit to Krypton, establishing a unique connection between her and this artificial intelligence that Kal-El, Superman, does not share.
Moreover, this situation offers a golden opportunity to introduce Superboy/Conner Kent into the mix. And perhaps, in an exhilarating turn of events, elevate Lois Lane to Superwoman. Of course, this cosmic journey would serve as a grand adventure, especially if these intriguing character developments are part of Gunn’s plans. Needless to say, we eagerly anticipate any developments that come even close to this enticing scenario.
