Hello there! It’s amazing how time flies, isn’t it? With Superman Day approaching this coming Friday, and in honor of Jimmy Olsen’s anniversary, James Gunn has shared a fresh photo featuring himself and Skyler Gisondo! Enjoy the anticipation!
Earlier on, I pointed out that the whole marketing approach for Superman appears to revolve around James Gunn, which strikes me as quite amusing.
Could it be that there’s no allocated marketing funds for the project, or could it possibly mean that Gunn has a strong sense of self-importance? It’s also plausible that Gunn is considered the most prominent figure associated with the movie.
Celebrating Jimmy Olsen’s anniversary
In other words, Gunn recently shared a backstage photo on social media with the caption, “Today marks Superman’s Best Friend Jimmy Olsen’s anniversary. Skyler Gisondo’s portrayal in #Superman is going to leave you astonished. This picture was taken by Jess Miglio.
Some of the comments on Gunn’s X are quite amusing, as it appears fans are catching on to the idea that Gunn might be subtly self-promoting. Meanwhile, another fan jokingly criticized Zack Snyder for not sparing Jimmy Olsen in his initial appearance (that stings a bit, Zack Snyder!).
Jimmy Olsen made his debut as Jimmy Olsen on the airwaves of “The Adventures of Superman” radio series on April 15.
Much like Snyder, Gunn has just dashed expectations regarding Superman Day, as it appears a second trailer won’t be unveiled. Keep in mind, when it comes to DC, anticipation is always a rollercoaster ride (wink wink).

The movie titled “Superman” is set to hit the big screens on July 11, 2025. The visionary behind it all is James Gunn, who serves as both the writer and director, as well as the producer. Additionally, DCU co-head Peter Safran takes on the role of producer too.
