Superman First Look: Milly Alcock as Supergirl Revealed – Get Ready for Her Solo Movie!

In James Gunn’s Superman film, it is Milly Alcock who debuts as DCU’s Supergirl. This actress will later headline her own movie, set to premiere on the 26th of June, 2026.

The hairstylist who put together Supergirl’s look in Superman revealed behind-the-scenes images.

As a movie enthusiast, I proudly accepted Lindsay McAllister’s hair color correction challenge, even though she had barely recovered from her flight to Atlanta the previous day! Talk about dedication! Spending a whopping eight hours in her chair was nothing compared to the excitement of giving Milly a fabulous new look.

For years, I’ve honed my craft in salons, and one task that always brought me joy was transforming clients into blonder versions of themselves. It required plenty of foils and toning, and to be honest, I can’t remember all the products I used since it’s been over a year now. I don’t follow formulas; instead, I mix things up like a mad scientist! Thank you, Peter, for having faith in me when I said ‘I got this.’ I can’t wait to see more of Milly on ‘Supergirl,’ even though I wasn’t fortunate enough to be a part of that production. But I am eagerly anticipating it, knowing that Peter Swords King and his UK makeup/hair team are behind it—they’re bound to do an amazing job!

What happens with Supergirl in Superman?

Towards the closing scenes of the film, Milly Alcock makes an appearance. While Clark is recuperating in the Fortress of Solitude, Supergirl suddenly appears, and it’s then unveiled that Krypto is actually her pet dog.

If you paid attention to the movie, Clark subtly suggested that fact when he mentioned he was caring for Krypto.

Upon her arrival, Supergirl appears intoxicated and her uniform is soiled. Superman instructs the robots at the Fortress to understand that Supergirl prefers visiting planets with red suns, since she becomes inebriated on such planets, a consequence they cannot experience due to their extraordinary metabolisms on planets with yellow suns.

Supergirl reunites with Krypto. “Thanks for watching him, b-tch!” she tells Superman.

The response from fans has been largely unfavorable, with some mixed reactions seen in the live audience during the screenings of Supergirl twice. Additionally, the overall opinion about the film ending with Supergirl calling Superman a “bitch” appears to lean towards the negative.

Superman gets his a– kicked the entire movie, and it ends like that. A lot of fans aren’t happy.

From her appearance in the movie, it seems likely that the overall tone of Supergirl will be similar. Gunn mentioned that Supergirl is quite different from Superman, so we can expect some unique twists. And regarding the Jor-El message, how might that impact Supergirl, who was brought up as a Kryptonian?

At a press event in January 2023, Gunn explained the contrast between Superman and Supergirl: while Superman was nurtured on Earth by loving parents since infancy, Supergirl was born on a distant planet called Krypton. For her first fourteen years, she witnessed numerous tragic deaths. Eventually, she came to Earth as a young girl. This experience has made her tougher than the traditional image of Supergirl we’re accustomed to.
