There’s a new rumor circulating online about the upcoming Supergirl movie, specifically regarding its quality and how long it will be.
One person who claims to have seen a cut of the movie had high praise for what they watched.
The author really enjoyed this, calling it exceptionally good. They’re hoping the current cut, or something similar, will be officially released, noting its impactful storytelling within a runtime of one hour and forty-five minutes.
That reaction has not been verified, so it should be taken as a rumor for now.

Supergirl could hit the ground running or fizzle out
If the movie really is 1 hour and 45 minutes long, Supergirl would be relatively short for today’s superhero films, similar in length to Marvel’s The Marvels.
It’s also possible the movie’s length could change before it comes out. Test screenings and early cuts are frequently revised during editing and finishing.
If the early signs are right, the movie could be a big success from the start. Otherwise, it risks flopping like The Marvels, which was the lowest-earning film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Okay, so things are getting interesting with this one. I’m hearing reports from a source claiming there was a test screening, but then they walked that back, saying the audience reaction was actually pretty negative. It’s a bit of a mixed signal, and honestly, I’m not sure what to make of it right now – good or bad, it sounds like it definitely left an impression!
The account posted on X, “Just letting everyone know, I’m only sharing what others told me – three people reached out saying the opposite is true.” They also wondered if this was the fifth or sixth test screening they’d heard about.

It did.
Now don’t come for me cuz i’m just the messenger. 3 others reached out to me and said the opposite😭😭.
Also, is this the 5th or 6th test screening so far?💀 https://t.co/G4ptyUQWQ5— Cryptic HD QUALITY (@Cryptic4KQual) March 13, 2026

What Supergirl is about
I recently saw Supergirl, the new DC Studios film, and Milly Alcock is fantastic! She plays both Kara Zor-El and her superhero alter ego, Supergirl, with a lot of depth. Craig Gillespie directed, working from a script by Ana Nogueira, and I think they’ve crafted a really compelling story.
When a dangerous new enemy attacks those Kara Zor-El cares about, she’s forced to team up with a surprising ally. Together, they embark on a grand, galaxy-spanning quest for revenge and to right wrongs.
The film features performances by Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.
Release date and DC Studios details
Peter Safran and James Gunn are producing the upcoming Supergirl movie for DC Studios. The film features DC characters, and Supergirl herself was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
Warner Bros. Pictures will release Supergirl in North American theaters and IMAX on June 26, 2026, and in international markets starting June 24, 2026.
