At The Game Awards, Illumination and Nintendo unexpectedly revealed a first glimpse of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, featuring Mario and Luigi battling Bowser Jr.
Watch below.
Bowser Jr. Gets a Power-Up
The preview shows Bowser Jr. ready for an epic space fight, wearing purple armor that glows and features a lightning bolt design on the front.
One of the most memorable scenes shows Bowser Jr. spinning his hair, which glows with power and transforms into a huge, spiky weapon.
Bowser Jr. powerfully swings his weapon, hitting Mario directly and launching him across the hall. This demonstrates that he’s a strong, dangerous opponent, not just a comical character.
Luigi follows up with a knee to Bowser Jr.’s face and snout.

The cast
Chris Pratt and Charlie Day reprise their roles as Mario and Luigi, while Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kevin Michael Richardson all return as Princess Peach, Bowser, Toad, and Kamek, respectively. Brie Larson joins the cast as Princess Rosalina, and Benny Safdie voices Bowser Jr.
