Gabrial Macht, renowned for his role as Harvey Specter in the long-running legal drama series “Suits,” has shared insights into how he managed to portray the character effectively over a span of years. He also acknowledges the significant contributions made by his directors during this time.

During a fascinating chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Gabriel Macht was queried, “Were there any fresh aspects of the character that you uncovered while returning to play him after all this time?

In response, Gabriel Macht initially mentioned that he might need some time to fully answer this question. Yet, he further explained that as an actor, his role is to adhere to the showrunner’s vision while developing his character. He also emphasized collaboration with directors and fellow actors, all the while maintaining a degree of spontaneity and making personal choices in the process.

Gabriel Macht then also mentioned that he tried to create the magic as they moved along. 

Initially, I fervently believed there was no resemblance between myself and the on-screen persona, as I shared during the early stages of our television journey. But as time unfolded, I found myself mirroring his actions in a way that was unsettlingly familiar, just as The Recruit actor admitted at the series’ conclusion.

Gabriel Macht further mentioned that some parts of Harvey Specter didn’t align with him initially. He expressed a desire to “respect the character, acknowledge his insecurities, and emulate his methods.” The actor, who recently made an unexpected appearance on Suits LA, added that currently, his character is more about being self-assured rather than the young version who felt compelled to make a statement to everyone he encountered.
