Successful inZOI launch drives record quarterly profits for KRAFTON

KRAFTON, a Korean publisher and developer, has unveiled its initial financial report for the year 2025’s first quarter, showcasing promising results. The company saw a significant increase in revenue ($610m USD) and operating profit ($318m USD), which can be attributed to robust growth across various sectors. This expansion was primarily fueled by the consistent performance of PUBG and the successful launch of life simulator, inZOI.

PC and mobile remain the company’s most profitable platforms by far, consoles trailing behind.

  • KRAFTON Q1/2025 revenue: ₩874.2b KRW, +31.3% YoY and +41.6% QoQ
  • KRAFTON Q1/2025 operating profit: ₩457.3b KRW, +47.3% YoY and +112.2% QoQ

KRAFTON announced that their game, inZOI, sold more than one million copies within its first week as Early Access. They haven’t set a specific release date for the full launch yet, but they plan to share further details about it sometime in 2026, as mentioned during their earnings presentation.

Over a longer period, KRAFTON aims to establish inZOI as one of their primary intellectual properties. For now, however, their development team is prioritizing regular updates, incorporating user feedback, and conducting experiments.

Regarding their plans for 2025, KRAFTON is banking on Dinkum and its companion game, Dinkum Together, along with mobile RPG Project AB and Subnautica 2. The much-anticipated underwater survival adventure, Subnautica 2, is scheduled to release as an Early Access title on PC and consoles in the latter half of 2025. It promises co-op gameplay, enhanced exploration mechanics, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass. KRAFTON’s leadership expressed “high hopes” for this upcoming game, given the success of its predecessor.

PUBG continues to be the foundation of KRAFTON’s operations, with plans for further development in the pipeline. At present, KRAFTON is working on three distinct PUBG spin-offs: the top-down shooter PUBG Blindspot, console battle royale game Valor, and extraction shooter Black Budget. On PC, the move to Unreal Engine 5 and a focus on user-generated content aims to elevate PUBG beyond just a game, turning it into a platform akin to Fortnite.
